Could you briefly describe PWR Chain?
PWR Chain is the world's first Layer 0 blockchain. It's a groundbreaking robust blockchain infrastructure that provides a floor on top of which any application can be deployed, including fully decentralized and validator-free L1's. It stands out by enabling direct interoperability with web2 and supporting various coding languages, frameworks, and software applications. Our goal is to create a seamless and sustainable blockchain environment on top of which a whole new world can be built.
What is the primary mission or goal of your project?
Our mission is to provide a powerful and sustainable blockchain infrastructure with a seamless user and developer experience that would enable any developer to build powerful blockchain applications in any coding language and with minimal knowledge of blockchain infrastructure. Simultaneously we want to enable users to securely enjoy those applications with minimal knowledge of blockchain and a web2 familiar experience.
What are the key social or environmental impacts of PWR Chain?
PWR Chain has significant social and environmental impacts:
- Energy Efficiency: Our infrastructure can handle over 300,000 transactions per second (TPS) using only a single CPU core, significantly reducing energy consumption and operational costs, and making PWR Chain the lightest blockchain infrastructure.
- Accessibility: This efficiency makes PWR Chain accessible and beneficial to communities with limited resources.
- Power to the Builders: PWR Chain empowers developers to build in any coding language and framework, and even empowers projects and founders to launch their own customizable, decentralised, and validator-free L1’s with the click of a button.
- Sustainability: Our eco-friendly approach supports global efforts to reduce carbon footprints and promote sustainable technology solutions.
How do you measure the impact of your project?
We measure our impact through a combination of quantitative and qualitative metrics, including:
- Transaction throughput and efficiency
- Energy consumption rates
- Number of socially impactful projects funded through PWR Chain
- User adoption rates in underserved communities
- Feedback from partners and stakeholders
- Onboarding of regular web2 developers and projects
Can you share a story about how PWR Chain has positively impacted someone’s life or a community?
Certainly. A SocialFi project with 200,000 daily transactions and a few thousand loyal users faced significant challenges due to high transaction costs. SocialFi users, unlike DeFi users, are generally unwilling to bear transaction costs, making it difficult for the project to find a cost-effective infrastructure. On the cheapest Ethereum Layer 2 solution, the 200,000 transactions would have cost $60,000 a month. By switching to PWR Chain, the transaction costs were reduced to just $90 a month. This dramatic cost reduction allowed the SocialFi project to scale smoothly and efficiently. Furthermore, PWR Chain's built-in interoperability with other ecosystems and seamless integration with Web2 facilitated easy onboarding of users and data, enhancing the project's growth and user experience.
What cool tech does PWR Chain use to power its magic?
PWR Chain leverages several advanced technologies:
- Delegated Proof of Power (DPOP) Consensus: The world’s first consensus algorithm to incentivise decentralization while ensuring fast block times
- Quantum-Resistant Cryptography: Provides enhanced security.
- Web2 Interoperability: Allows seamless integration with existing internet applications and infrastructures.
What are the standout features or awesome innovations that make PWR Chain unique?
PWR Chain stands out due to its:
- Exceptional interoperability with Web2 and Web3 environments
- High scalability, capable of processing over 300,000 TPS using just one CPU core
- Energy-efficient operations, enabling nodes to run on devices as basic as an old Raspberry Pi
- EVM compatibility and support for all coding languages and frameworks
- Gasless transactions and built-in front-running protection
- Quantum-resistant security measures
- Minimal, fixed transaction fees
What have been the biggest twists and turns in PWR Chain’s journey so far, and what exciting opportunities and launches can we expect in the next year?
PWR Chain was bootstrapped over two years, with initial funding kicking off at the end of 2023 led by Tim Draper and Draper.vc. A major challenge was achieving scalability without compromising security or decentralization. However, we successfully developed an infrastructure that separates validation from processing, ensuring instant finality and high transaction throughput.
This year, we plan to launch:
- A decentralized L1 portal that will enable any project to deploy their own L1’s on PWR Chain. These L1’s will be customizable, validator free, sustainable (doesn’t rely on anyone to run them), decentralized and highly scalable
- Enhanced interoperability features with major blockchains such as Bitcoin and Ethereum
- Partnerships with global NGOs to further our social good initiatives
Why did you choose to join the Blockchain for Good Alliance, and how have you benefited from it?
We joined the Blockchain for Good Alliance to collaborate with organizations dedicated to leveraging blockchain technology for positive social and environmental impact. Through this alliance, we will form strategic partnerships, gain valuable insights, and increase our project's visibility. We hope to continue leveraging this network to amplify our impact and drive innovative solutions that benefit communities worldwide.
What advice would you give to someone looking to start their own blockchain project for social good?
Focus on addressing real-world problems and ensure your solution adds tangible value. Collaborate with other organizations, stay adaptable, and prioritize transparency and user trust. Emphasize sustainability and inclusivity from the outset, and leverage existing networks like Blockchain for Good Alliance to enhance your project's reach and impact.
